Position Summary:

Build, test, deploy, and maintain front-end code, libraries, and standards for web applications as a member of the architecture team, specializing in UI/UX.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of and applies a wide range of design techniques, writes code, creates mockups and prototypes, works well with others
  • Design, prototype, and test user interfaces and information architectures for web-based or other software products, including mobile.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, product management, and QA teams to create workable prototypes, wireframes, user task flow diagrams, and functional design specifications.
  • Remain current on user interface trends and programming techniques and suggest new tools and methods as necessary.
  • Work with development team to develop front-end UI libraries
  • Work with other architects to train developers on UX and UI standards and practices
  • Work with other architects to develop standards and practices for a common UI and UX across all applications
  • Reports to the Lead Architect

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, User Experience, Computer Science or related experience in a similar technical role
  • Strong design skills as well as the ability to write some code
  • Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment
  • 4+ years of experience in user interface/front end development for web based applications
  • BootStrap, jQuery, Kendo UI, HighCharts, Responsive UIs, and other development experience preferred
  • Agile development experience preferred
  • Ability to independently manage time and priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Experience leading projects and teams focused on UX design and research with a special focus on large data sets and related visualizations
  • Knowledge of tools and applications that support UX deliverables, such as wireframes, prototypes, data visualization, and flowcharts
  • Provide leadership and guidance to architects and developers in areas of UX principles, implementation choices and coding best practices
  • Strong visual design skills and familiarity with visual and interaction design trends
